Samarkand was established  in 2016 by proven founders and entrepreneurs David Hampstead and Simon Smiley.  The business started life as a cross border distributor of health and beauty brands to the China market and has evolved through acquisition into a brand owner. Today the group owns 3 brands, Napiers the Herbalists, Scotland's oldest natural herbal apothecary, Zita West, a specialist fertility and reproductive health nutrient and supplement brand for men and women and Nature's Greatest Secret a leading colloidal silver base health and healing brand.
